Not long now

It's only 5 days 'til Christmas and I thought I'd share a few more cards and wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...

All that glitters is not (just) gold

Sometimes it's red or silver.... Just like these Christmas cards that I whipped up using Teresa Collins new Xmas range and the gorgeous Impression Obsession deer trio, Tim Holtz deer and Penny Black ornaments dies.

Scary thing is, it's only 1 month 'til Christmas and usually by now I have all the shopping and cards done. Not this year and a bit of panic is starting to set in. You may have noticed I have not been tending my little blog of late. Working full time has put a serious crimp in my creating time...that's why I am so proud of getting these cards done at least: I love it when they practically make themselves. (Inspired to use this range by Jenny C and Cookie).

Brian & Dawn

I am loving the stamens from Green Tara as they breathe new life into petals. Let's face it buttons & brads just don't always convey the right mood for a layout. The stamens make them look more realistic, especially when used with fabric flowers that have the same look.

I was using these beautiful vintage tones on the layout of my in-laws wedding, but they were too muted. I swiped some versamark ink over them, then dipped them in gold embossing powder and heated. This made them stand out a little more and when combined with the gold stamens, Damask flower and gorgeous ribbons, the whole layout felt complete. Vintage doesn't have to be dull.

A Work in Progress

More Green Tara lovelies with Kaisercraft paper  & embellishment....I like the colour of these petals but wanted them a bit darker, so wiped versamark ink over them and embossed them with clear embossing powder that had sparkle in it. That gave them a lovely gloss and a slightly darker colour which set off the pink pearl stamens. I combined them with the large green leaves to tone down all the pink and cream and folder over the 10cm petal to make a bloom and added the silk and Swarovski crystal flowers and the satin rosette to make a nice little cluster.

It's good to be back

I hadn't realised just how long I had been absent from my little blog....too long. The main reason is that I have started a new job!

One of the great things about my job is I am surrounded by lovely things and I have actually been busy playing with lots of ribbons & flowers courtesy of my lovely boss at Green Tara

Here is the first of many:

Gorjuss Bench

I love the Gorjuss girl stamps and thought I'd try this out. I think it worked well with the Elizabeth Craft Designs Garden Bench pop up die (a big thanks to my lovely friend Maria for the use of hers)...

Waiting for Summer

Here in Australia it is the middle of winter and quite chilly. I start hyrotherapy next week and trying to find a swimming costume is near impossible, but thanks to my great friend Annie, I will be covered. I made this as a little thank you for her:

Card in a box

This was my next attempt at a card in a box as we have lots of birthdays to celebrate this time of year:

I'm Back....Sorta

Well it's been quite a while since my last post and hopefully I can get back on track now. Since my latest operation I have had a lot of free time trying to get my body moving again. For the most part it has been too uncomfortable to actually sit & craft for any length of time but I have been Pinning like a mad woman and gathering lots of ideas that I can't wait to try.

I was particularly taken with the card in a box idea and have tried my hand at a few....

This was my first attempt and was made as a thank you for the nursing staff along with some choc chip cookies:

Happy New Year?

And this is the other layout that caused me problems due to the pale colour & lack of available light....

Year 10 Formal

This is one of the layouts that I had trouble photographing properly due to the pale colours and the lack of good light in my home. Unfortunatly the Prima canvas letters don't show up in the main photo.

But here is a close up of them.

Hi Ho Hi Ho

its back to hospital I go...
That's right I have to go back in 10 days and have more surgery. That makes 5 ops in 3.5 years and I'm quite over it, but still it needs to be done, so this princess will suck it up.

Due to this my poor little blog will be neglected a bit longer, but I am hopeful that after I am recovered I will have lots to blog about and lots of pretties to show you.

Currently I have two gorgeous layouts (even if I do say so myself) to photograph & put up, but due to their pale nature, I am having difficulty photographing them to best advantage.I will give it another go this weekend, so there is something to tide you over for a while.

Happy crafting!!!

Are we there yet?

This layout is not in my usual style as I used lots of collage elements for the layout all about my girls trip to New Zealand with the school band.
