Lots of things happening at the moment in my life and I am grateful for my friends being there, so thought I'd take a moment or two to whip up some thank you cards - lots of good friends, lots of thanks to go around. Here are the first four I made today, the rest will follow in future posts.

These used up leftover Fancy Pants Designs journal books - On a Whimsy and Summer Soiree, some stamps, ink , a few embellishments and a flower.

Mad as a Hatter

I love this kid and have known him since he was a teeny tiny toddler (and now he's a big strapping lad) and so glad I get to "borrow" him every now & again and that he doesn't mind a bit of fancy dress. It was just perfect timing that he went to book week as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, shortly before Graphic 45 released their Halloween in Wonderland range last year.

This lot have been waiting patiently in a Cropper Hopper Page Planner until my mojo found it's way back to me (thanks Leanne!!) and I whipped it up on Sunday.

I spritzed some cream cardstock with Glimmer Mist over Tim Holtz Timeworks mask after stamping in Versafine Vintage Sepia with Darkroom Door Harlequin stamp in a few places as both the mask & the stamp complemented the patterns in the papers. I edged the tag in Crimson Red ink and around the whole layout in the Vintage Sepia.

I don't "do" love

That may sound a bit harsh, but it sort of became a catch phrase a few years back working in a scrapbook store. I was asked to design some classes for February based on Valentines and the month of love. Well in my house, while there is lots of love, it is just not demonstrated in that form and as I was totally out of my comfort zone I announced "but I don't do love" which cracked everyone up...what it basically means is I'm not into schmaltzy lovey dovey kissy kissy "stuff" and neither is my hubby.

So when Ally at Green Tara asked for a valentines card to show off some gorgeous new product, as in years past I bit the bullet and "did" love.

So a Happy Valentines to all of you who "do" love and wishing love to all those who don't- 'cos Love Blooms Here

Birthdays, Birthdays and more Birtthdays

Well now that the round of birthdays in our family is over (can you believe we have 5 between Christmas day and the 12th January!), it seemed like a good time to replenish my birthday card supply and what better way than to see how many cards I could make from one sheet of patterned paper.

I managed 5 from this sheet of Fancy Pants Its Your Day Strips, but could easily have made more if I went with 6x4 cards instead of 8x4's. I used green and blue cardstock as my bases and added red kindy glitz, dimensional magic as well as foam mount to give dimension, Carolee's lettering and Glitz Designs mesh. There are a few buttons added for interest.

Year of the Rabbit

Wishing you all a prosperous Chinese New Year, as it happens, the year of the rabbit, so I thought it only fitting that Baz sends his regards.
